Known to us Earthlings as Jim, Jimmy, Bean, or many other more irrever- ent nicknames, was born in Berke- ley, California, on September 8, 1952. The fourth and most middle of middle children to John B. Bean and Ruth Leslie Bean, who both preced- ed him in death along with eldest sister Molly Bean Borgeson.

Sur- rounded by his siblings, Molly Borgeson (Dale), Robin Nelson, John M. Bean (Babette), Connie Connors (Tim) and Bridget Bean, he spent his childhood in Berkeley and Min- neapolis wishing to be a cowboy when he grew up. He got his wish later in life and lived his dream with his loving wife, Catherine Hazelroth, outside of Rogers, Minnesota, on a funny farm filled with horses, dogs, cats and loads of manure, which peppered his many, many favorite jokes with a certain theme and aro- ma. He attended The Blake School, honed his musical talents at the University of the Pacific and gradu- ated from the University of Minne- sota. The loves of his life were his wife; his two daughters, Jenny Bruce (Dave) and Elissa Bean (Steve Mura); seven grandchildren, Libby, Betsy, Lila, Oliver, Quinn, William and Jack; and hoards of nieces and nephews.

He spent his years finding the beauty of life through the lens of his camera, exploring the world through the words of his many mentors and teachers from all walks of spiritual lives, and making those around him laugh with ran- dom moos, baas and clucks during times when he would see us trying too hard to be too serious. Also, was a great lover of naps. Jim was nothing but wise, soulful, deep thinking and always striving to be the best human he could be here on Earth. He loved being among large groups of two and could rarely be found with more people than that, especially if they were dressed in anything other than jeans and a good old fleece jacket. For those reasons, he would despise a formal service or memori- al of any kind whatsoever, not to mention ever having been men- tioned in an obituary.

However, a private, not stuffy or dressy, but probably somewhat awkward cele- bration of all things Jimmy will be held at a future date. Please re- member him by sending your good intentions and loving energy to- ward the universe and all of your loved ones and then, if you feel compelled, memorials in lieu of flowers to: Elissa Bean, 5021 Vernon Ave. Box 212, Edina, MN 55436. All memorials will be donated, in name, to charities close to his heart. Beauchaine, Marjorie Elizabeth Age 84, of Long Lake, MN.

"Wally" Age 84 for- merly of Min- neapolis, MN passed away on April 26, 2022 in Port- land, OR. Preceded in death by his wife Sylvia, son Jeffrey, brother Jerry, and parents Clara and Alvin.

Survived by daughter Kimber- ly, son-in-law David Peter-meier, sisters Joanne Caspersen and Jan- ice (Wayne) Hanson, many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, and his be- loved granddog Sneak. To you he may have been John, Jack, or Wally, but regardless of what you called him, you knew a man with a big voice, big heart, and big appetite for an all-you-can-eat buffet. Wally loved to talk. His stories often went on tangents that you thought there was no possible return to the original premise. You care; listening to him was worth the wait and ended with a hearty laugh, usu- ally his own.

It was fitting that his favorite activities were fishing and golf as they allowed for the best tall tales of the largest walleye that got away or the longest drive in every history. His younger years were spent in Minneapolis where he was a 1955 graduate of Roosevelt High School, maintaining many of those friend- ships throughout his life. He was stationed in Germany during his time in the army, then returned and married Sylvia. He worked his entire career as a truck driver and heavy machinery mover which allowed him to travel and see so much of the world. He continued that sense of adventure and discovery throughout his life.

During his last two years, he moved in with his daughter and son-in-law in Portland, OR. Together they loved traveling the Pacific Northwest, wine tasting, sitting at the coast, and trying every restaurant. Even as dementia took away memories and some function, he still loved ex- periencing new things and places. He was incredibly generous, want- ing to provide care and support for everyone he loved. To honor that generosity, we welcome donations to his two favorite non-profits; Ac- tive Children Portland (AC Portland) and One Tail at a Time PDX.

As he always loved playing and watching sports, reading, and children, it makes sense his daughter would run an organization that provides free sports and academic support for kids in under-served communi- ties. You can donate at acportland. to make sure others have the same opportunities he provided Kimberly in her youth. He loved his granddog, Sneak, a rescue from One Tail at a Time PDX. Sneak could sense when he was strug- gling with dementia and would put his head on lap, immediate- ly calming him, bringing back the personality and humor we all loved.

You can give at otatpdx.org/donate. There will be a celebration of life in Minnesota in the Summer. A very special thanks to his niece Jill, Natalie at Hawthorne Gardens, and Lidia and Chris at Glendoveer Senior Living for taking such amaz- ing care of him. Bestler, Linda Lenore (Nelson) died sudden- ly, April 21, 2022 at age 76. She is sur- vived by hus- band of 53 years, Larry Bestler; a Karla Cady (52); son, Joe Bestler (51); grandchildren, Michelle, Bestler, Celina Bestler, Tristan Cady, Jazlyn Cady.
